Full-frame CMOS image sensor with 33.0 effective megapixels
Delivering outstanding performance and excellent image quality for both stills and movies, the a7C II's new 33.0 megapixel Exmor R™ CMOS image sensor provides high-speed readout, high sensitivity from ISO 100 to ISO 51200, low noise, and highly accurate colour reproduction.
Advanced BIONZ XR™ engine
The advanced BIONZ XR processing engine delivers up to eight times more processing power than its predecessor. It minimises processing latency while boosting movie and still image processing power, achieving natural gradations, realistic colour, low noise, superior image quality and fast menu response.
Consistently accurate exposure and colour
Employing the latest processing engine combined with an advanced AE algorithm, the a7C II can detect the skin area of faces and adjust exposure accordingly for both stills and movies. It achieves consistent exposure control even in challenging shooting conditions when the subject is backlit, in shadows or direct sunlight, or not directly facing the camera.
Realise your vision with Creative Look
Set the visual mood with Creative Look, which offers 10 customisable presets so you can capture the world the way you want. Either use the presets as they are or adjust eight parameters, including contrast, saturation, and shadows, to create shareable stills and movies in-camera without the need for post-production editing.
Selectable RAW image sizes and quality
Lossless RAW image compression provides efficient compression for smaller file sizes with no loss in image quality, enabling the camera to shoot up to 27 frames in continuous bursts. There are three lossless-compression image sizes (S/M/L) to suit any application, and a Light image quality selection that generates less data is provided for JPEG and HEIF images.
Advanced optical 5-axis image stabilisation
Enjoy even more stable handheld shooting for stills, thanks to the a7C II’s high-precision image stabilisation unit, advanced gyro sensors, and optimised image stabilisation algorithms that effectively correct 7.0-steps of camera shake. Compatible lenses with built-in image stabilisatio combine with improved synchronisation between the body and lens to make framing easier even at telephoto focal lengths that can otherwise cause a large amount of blur.
More than 70 E-mount lenses offer boundless creativity
The a7C II is compatible with Sony's extensive lineup of optically advanced E-mount lenses, including the G Master™ series that blends breathtaking resolution with exquisite bokeh, and the G Lens™ series with excellent image quality and smooth bokeh.
